Lincat has added to its range of Opus 800 induction hobs, by introducing two new models that feature larger induction zones.
The two-zone OE8018 and four-zone OE8019 have been developed in response to demand for induction hobs that can accommodate bigger pans and deliver heat to a larger area. The zones of the new models measure 270mm in diameter, compared to the 220mm size of the range’s existing OE8013 and OE8014 hobs.
Powerful, energy efficient and robust, the hobs zones deliver 5.3kW, providing rapid heat-up. At the same time, multiple internal cooling fans provide protection against overheating and extend service life. An easy-to-change filter, built into the base, allows simple maintenance with no need for an engineer.
The easy-to-clean hob top is constructed from 6mm thick high impact resistant glass and is fitted with automatic pan detection to conserve energy and improve safety in the kitchen.
Designed to suite with Opus 800 series, the OE8018 and OE8019 can be used as countertop units or mounted to meet requirements of the kitchen.
As with all UK-manufactured Lincat equipment, the new Opus 800 induction hobs are supplied with a two-year on-site parts and labour warranty, with next-day availability of spare parts. If a piece of equipment does need repairing, it can be done quickly and easily by service engineers, minimising downtime and inconvenience.

Induction hobs typically offer 90% efficiency as compared with a solid electric hotplate at 55% and a gas hob at 50%. Heat is generated in the pan, instead of the hob surface, meaning very little energy is wasted into the kitchen’s atmosphere, which also provides a more comfortable working environment for staff.
“Our new OE8018 and OE8019 were developed in response to feedback from distributors and caterers themselves, who required space for larger pans on their induction hobs. We’ve increased the width of the units and the size of the induction surface itself, which delivers fast heat-up to a bigger area.”
