Two electric, direct cook chargrills have been added to Lincat’s Opus 800 series of heavy-duty prime cooking equipment.

Food is cooked directly on the chargrill’s elements, which deliver rapid heat-up and consistent temperature. This gives food that perfectly-cooked, expertly-branded appearance, without the need for branding bars or cast iron grids, which can be time-consuming to clean.

The chargrills are available in two sizes – the 8.4kW 600mm wide OE8413 and the 13.44kW 900mm OE8414. Independently-controlled elements on the OE8414 mean one side can be switched off during quieter service periods to save energy.

Designed to be suited with other products in the Opus 800 series, the chargrills features ‘lift and park’ hinged, easy clean elements and a removable tank. After service, the unit can be turned on full power for 15 minutes to burn off fat and debris. After this, any remaining debris can be removed using the tool supplied.

Accessories available include a resting shelf, which provides additional space and is ideal for the continued slow cooking of meats, making them tender and preventing them from drying out. A condiment rail, for the storage of seasoning and grilling tools, can also be specified as an extra.

Helen Applewhite, Marketing Manager at Lincat, commented:

“Customers love burgers and steaks that have an authentic barbecued flavour, which is why chargrills are a popular piece of equipment amongst chefs. However, gas chargrills can be costly, as kitchens need to invest in sufficient extraction with interlocks.

“Our new electric, direct cook chargrills provide the perfect solution. They heat-up fast deliver branded food with that authentic chargrilled taste, and are quick and easy to clean.”
