Lincat has added a new smaller WasteStation to its IMC range of waste management solutions.
Lincat has added a new smaller WasteStation to its IMC range of waste management solutions. The brand developed the IMC WasteStation Compact in response to a gap in the market it identified.
For establishments such as smaller restaurants, pubs, cafes and care homes, the IMC WasteStation Compact will reduce plate and soft food waste volume by up to 80%. To put this into context for every five wheelie bins an organisation would normally fill, the IMC WasteStation Compact will reduce this to just one!
Helen Applewhite, Marketing Manager for Lincat and IMC brands, said:
“IMC developed the original WasteStation over ten years ago, sales of the unit remain strong with awareness growing of the environmental damage sending food waste to landfill is causing. It is great to see so many organisations reaching out to us for help in reducing their food waste carbon footprint. The original WasteStation remains a fantastic solution for larger organisations who are processing up to 700 kg of food waste per hour and who have the space to accommodate the unit.
“For smaller organisations though we didn’t have an offering which fitted their volume requirements, space or budget. Having conducted our own extensive research we couldn’t find a combined macerator and dewaterer system of a similar compact footprint on the market. The IMC WasteStation Compact offers an incredibly small footprint and the capacity to process up to 200 kg of mixed plate and soft food waste per hour so it’s exciting to see it launch.”
Food waste typically represents 40% of total commercial catering waste of this 77% is liquid. The macerator inside the IMC WasteStation Compact grinds the food waste into fine particles before moving to the dewaterer where it is spun at high speeds forcing the excess liquid out. The resulting solid faction is collected in a small lidded bin for onward processing. Onward processes can include in-vessel composting or production of compressed pellets for biofuels.
The self-cleaning auto rinse which starts when the WasteStation is inactive for eight minutes prevents any build-up of food and the associated odours this would bring.
The IMC WasteStation Compact at 900mm high, 600mm wide and 700mm deep is little bigger than a standard single door bottle cooler and has been designed to fit into the smallest of kitchens. Available in three phase (F79/250) and also single phase (F79/240) the WasteStation can be used in establishments which were never designed to be used for commercial catering.
A hygienic stainless steel construction makes the WasteStation robust and easy to clean. The IMC WasteStation Compact is supplied with a full waste audit, site survey and full training. As with all Lincat products sold in the UK, the WasteStation Compact will be supplied with a comprehensive, two-year parts and labour warranty.
