Lincat launches the world’s most efficient gas fryers - Vortech
Lincat, the UK’s leading manufacturer of commercial catering equipment, has unveiled Vortech, a new range of high-efficiency gas fryers which it believes to be the most energy efficient in the world. The fryers, which herald a new era in gas fryer technology, deliver an unprecedented level of energy efficiency – 97% - to produce world beating operating economy.
The majority of commercial fryers achieve efficiency ratings of 50%, which is the minimum required by European regulations. Other ‘high efficiency’ models achieve in the region of 80%. The Vortech fryers’ 97% score has been independently verified by BSI tests. This saves energy, reduces operating costs and is kinder to the environment.
The breakthrough has been achieved through the integration of three new technologies. The first is a powerful pre-mix burner, where air is driven into the combustion chamber to mix with gas in a highly effective way to produce heat in the region of 900oC to 1000oC – 25% hotter than a normal fryer. Next the heat is conserved by the unique, multi-pass heat recovery system. Thirdly a new, intelligent electronic temperature control system produces further energy savings and ensures consistent results.
Nick McDonald, Marketing Director of Lincat, said…
“Our new Vortech range sets a new standard for energy efficiency in the competitive world of commercial fryers. Clearly we haven’t been able to test every fryer in the world but, to the best of our knowledge, 97% efficiency puts the Vortech in a class of its own. Of course this means a new standard for operational economy too, which can result in a payback period of less than two years.”
“But the benefits are not restricted to fuel saving. The output of the new fryers is substantially higher than an equivalent, standard fryer, and the advanced temperature control system ensures that fried foods are cooked to perfection, every time.”
There are two new Vortech fryers to choose from: the OG7115 and the OG7115/F which has built-in filtration, to extend the life of cooking oil. Both are capable of cooking 88lbs/40kg of chips per hour from frozen, or 112lbs/51kg from chilled. Each features convenient electronic ignition and is designed to be easy to clean, with unobstructed access to the tank, removable batter plates and a wide bore drain pipe for quick and easy draining. Both new fryers are supplied with a two-year parts and labour warranty as standard. They are designed to be suited with Lincat’s heavy-duty Opus 700 range of prime cooking equipment.
