Lincat adds two energy efficient induction hobs to heavy duty Opus 700 range

Following the successful launch, last year, of its first ever induction hob - the countertop IH21 - Lincat has now added two heavy duty induction hobs to its Opus 700 range.

Designed to be suited with Opus 700 equipment, the new models feature energy-efficient induction technology to help businesses reduce operating costs. At the same time, they deliver a highly responsive and controllable cooking method, whilst helping to maintain a safe and comfortable working environment.

Lincat induction hobs typically offer 90% efficiency as compared with a solid electric hotplate at 55% and a gas hob at 50%. Because heat is generated in the pan, instead of the hob surface, very little energy is wasted into the kitchen’s atmosphere, which makes the cooking process more efficient and reduces demand on air conditioning systems. Added to that, Lincat’s new induction hobs deliver rapid heat-up and almost twice the cooking power of similarly rated gas hobs.

The new OE7013 is equipped with two high power 3.5kW cooking zones, whilst the OE7014 has four. They are manufactured at Lincat’s factory in Lincoln from heavy duty components, including 6mm thick high impact-resistant Schott Ceran® glass ceramic surfaces. These are hard-wearing and easy to clean, particularly as the induction process keeps the surface relatively cool.

An innovative ‘pan maximiser’ function delivers optimum power to any compatible pan, to ensure responsive and precise control of the cooking temperature. Other features include rotary controls with LED power level display, a pan detection safety function, easy-to-change filter and a powerful internal cooling fan with overheat protection.

Nick McDonald, Marketing Director of Lincat Ltd, said:

“Our new induction hobs are robust and powerful, whilst also offering precise control. This makes them perfect for melting chocolate, simmering stocks or rapidly boiling large pans of pasta. They will also help businesses to reduce energy consumption, cut costs and increase safety in the kitchen.”

Lincat Ltd manufactures one of the world’s most comprehensive ranges of catering equipment. Products are sold in the UK and in over 50 countries worldwide through a comprehensive network of distributors. Lincat Ltd is a member company of the Middleby Corporation.
