Lincat adds four new energy efficient induction hobs to Silverlink 600 range

Lincat has added four new, energy efficient induction hobs to Silverlink 600, its market-leading range of medium duty catering equipment.

The new single, twin and four-zone models, together with a dished unit for wok cooking, are compatible with the full range of Silverlink 600 stands and pedestels. They can therefore be used either as stand-alone units, or be suited with other items of Silverlink 600 equipment, to create a stylish, bespoke cookline.

Silverlink 600 induction hobs feature energy-efficient induction technology to help businesses reduce operating costs. At the same time, they deliver a highly responsive and controllable cooking method, whilst helping to maintain a safe and comfortable working environment.

“Lincat induction hobs typically offer 90% efficiency as compared with a solid electric hotplate at 55% and a gas hob at 50%. Because heat is generated in the pan, instead of the hob surface, very little energy is wasted into the atmosphere, which makes the cooking process more efficient and makes for a cooler kitchen,” said Helen Mitchell, Marketing Executive of Lincat.

She continued…

“Added to that, our new induction hobs deliver rapid heat-up and almost twice the cooking power of similarly rated gas hobs. And because they operate from 13amp supply (two separate 13 amp cables in the case of the four-zone) no special installation is required."

The new SLI3 and SLI3W (wok) are equipped with one high power 2.4kW cooking zone. The SLI21 is equipped with one 1kW and one 2kW cooking zones, whilst the SLI42 features two 1kW and two 2kW. They are manufactured at Lincat’s factory in Lincoln from heavy duty components, including 6mm thick high impact-resistant Schott Ceran® glass ceramic surfaces. These are hard-wearing and easy to clean, particularly as the induction process keeps the surface relatively cool.

An automatic heat up function, which switches to a pre-set lower level for simmering, helps to save energy.  So does a pan detection function which switches the power off when the pan is removed from the hob. Other features include easy to use rotary controls with LED display, an easy-to-change filter and a powerful internal cooling fan with overheat protection.
