Lincat launch new generation of Opus SelfCooking Centers

Lincat Ltd, the UK’s leading manufacturer of commercial catering equipment, has launched a new generation of Opus SelfCooking Centers. The new Opus SelfCooking Centers are equipped with CareControl, a unique system which eliminates the need for costly separate water softeners and manages its own cleaning and care processes. It is designed to ensure that Opus SelfCooking Centers are maintained, at all times, in perfect operational condition.

OSC202 (CareControl)

Launched in 2004, Lincat’s Opus SelfCooking Centers brought powerful ‘smart’ touch screen technology to cooking. This enables operators, whether roasting, baking, poaching, grilling or pan frying, to simply select the type of food to be cooked and the desired outcome. The Opus SelfCooking Center does the rest, even cleaning itself at the end of the shift using groundbreaking CleanJet+care technology.

Now, the new CareControl system will work out when and how deeply the SelfCooking Center needs to be cleaned, saving time and minimising the use of energy and detergents. CleanJet detergent tablets will be used as before, but there will no longer be a need for separate rinse aid tablets.  Instead care tablets, containing agents which inhibit lime scale build up, will eliminate the need for a separate water softener. CalcDiagnosis, the system which alerts the user as and when to descale, will operate as before.

“The addition of CareControl will help users to ensure that their Opus SelfCooking Centers are maintained at all times in optimum working order”, said Paul Hickman, Lincat’s Development Chef. “In addition it will help to reduce energy consumption and minimise the use of cleaning detergents, cutting costs and benefiting the environment. The new models will be offered at the same price as those they replace and will be supplied with an extended two-year parts and labour warranty as standard.”

Opus SelfCooking Centers are available in six sizes, offering capacities to suit the needs of any commercial kitchen. All sizes are available for operation on gas or electricity. Prices range from the OSC61 (6 x 1/1 GN) electric model at £7303 to the OSC202 G (20 x 2/1 GN) gas version at £27531.

Lincat Ltd is part of the Lincat Group of companies. Sister companies IMC Ltd and Britannia Kitchen Ventilation Ltd operate in the commercial catering equipment sector. Lincat Group company Mercury Appliances Ltd designs and manufactures domestic cooking appliances.
