Lincat launch new generation of Lynx 400 countertop cooking equipment

Lincat has introduced its new generation of Lynx 400 compact, countertop electric cooking equipment.

Lynx 400 countertopEach of the 36 products in the range has been designed and rigorously tested to ensure that it provides outstanding performance, reliability and value for money. In addition the range contains some entirely new products including contact/panini grills (which will be available later in the year) and a countertop convection oven. The new products are available now from Lincat distributors nationwide.

Typically rated at 3kW or under, most Lynx 400 products are supplied with a cable and a 13 amp plug, so that no special installation is required. Users can therefore plug in, switch on and start to cook. As such, Lynx 400 is ideal for smaller kitchens, or for occasional use in larger establishments. The range comprises: fryers, chip scuttle, grills, contact grills, griddles, bains marie, boiling tops, pasta boiler, pizza oven and convection oven.

“Providing enhanced quality, reliability and performance has been the chief objective of this major re-engineering of the Lynx 400 range”, said Nick McDonald, Marketing and Export Director of Lincat Ltd. “We were also determined that this should be achieved without the need to increase prices, and if product prices could be reduced, all the better. It was a tall order for our team of design engineers, especially when the cost of raw materials is spiralling upwards!”

He continued…

“I’m glad to say that they rose to the challenge and that each target has been met. The enhanced Lynx 400 products are being offered at the same price, or less, than the products they replace. Quality has of course been in no way compromised. Just as much care and attention has been put into the redesign of Lynx 400 products as was put into the design of larger equipment, such as our heavy duty Opus 700 range. Instead, savings have been generated by improvements in manufacturing efficiency, which we are pleased to be able to pass on to Lincat customers.”

Each Lynx 400 product has been rigorously tested by Lincat’s in-house Development Chef, Paul Hickman. This means that buyers can be confident that Lynx equipment has been robustly built, will perform to specification and provide many years of trouble free service. It also means that Lynx 400 products will be easy to clean since Paul is a stickler for hygiene. If he finds that a prototype is difficult to clean it is sent straight back to the engineering team for modification.

Operational safety also continues to be a hallmark of the Lynx 400 range. Safety features include non-slip feet which prevent appliances moving on work tops to reduce the risk of scalds and burns, and ‘power on’ neons which clearly show that the equipment is connected to the mains supply. These features are often missing in smaller equipment. Lynx 400 products are supplied with a full 12 months UK parts and labour warranty. However if service assistance is required Lincat can, as a UK manufacturer, respond quickly with a full stockholding of spare parts.

Lincat Ltd is part of the Lincat Group of companies. Sister companies IMC Ltd and Britannia Kitchen Ventilation Ltd operate in the commercial catering equipment sector. Lincat Group company Mercury Appliances Ltd designs and manufactures domestic cooking appliances.
