Lincat announce appointment to the Board
Lincat Ltd, the leading UK manufacturer of commercial catering equipment, has promoted Drew Elsigood, the company’s Production Manager, to the newly created Board position of Production Director. The appointment, which became effective from 1 January 2008, reflects the company’s continued commitment to manufacturing here in the UK.
“Drew’s promotion to Production Director makes an important structural change in our company and ensures a more balanced functional responsibility. It also reflects the importance of manufacturing operations to our business, given their complexity and the growing challenges of global competitiveness”, said Steve Mitchell, Managing Director of Lincat Ltd. “And of course it rightly recognises the responsibility of the role and the contribution Drew has made during his tenure as Production Manager."
Drew Elsigood joined Lincat in 1994 as a Materials Controller, with over 15 years’ experience of manufacturing production gained from working in Lincoln’s cast metal industries. He then transferred to Lincat’s production programming team before being promoted to Production Manager in 1998.
Lincat’s product range extends to over 450 different products, including equipment for cooking, holding and display. The company produces 1000 pieces of equipment each week, with 105 members of the company’s 195-strong work force, directly involved in product manufacture. The company operates from its 100,000 sq. ft. (10,000m2) facility in North Hykeham, Lincoln, where it has invested heavily in a wide range of advanced manufacturing technologies such as robotic welding and computerised panel bending.
Altogether Lincat Ltd is part of the Lincat Group of companies. Sister companies IMC Ltd and Britannia Kitchen Ventilation Ltd operate in the commercial catering equipment sector. Lincat Group company Mercury Appliances Ltd designs and manufactures domestic cooking appliances.
