atmospheric steamerLincat, the leading British manufacturer of commercial catering equipment for cooking, holding and display, has added two atmospheric steamers to its heavy duty Opus 700 range of prime cooking equipment. Simple to use and with a generous capacity, Lincat’s new Opus 700 atmospheric steamers offer the perfect solution for the volume production of healthy steamed food.

Robustly built, these six shelf atmospheric steamers, one gas and one electric, can accommodate 2 x 1/1 GN containers per shelf. Internal steam generation ensures that the ovens remain fully saturated with steam to guarantee high quality food production, and energy efficiency is enhanced by the positive two-point door latch mechanism and effective door seal. All components and materials are WRAS approved to ensure quality and hygiene.

“Atmospheric steamers are popular in large kitchens, especially so in education or healthcare settings, and it’s clear to see why”, said Nick McDonald, Marketing & Export Director of Lincat Ltd. “Easy to use and versatile, they are capable of delivering substantial nutritional and cost saving benefits. Vegetables, rice, ham, fish and puddings all retain their nutritional value and colour when steamed, and reduced shrinkage results in cost savings on raw products. We believe these new 2/1 GN models will prove to be popular, especially as they offer twice the capacity of the more common 1/1GN steamers but at a similar price level.”
Priced at £3,190 for the gas powered OG7502 and £2,990 for the electric OE7503, they are an ideal choice where large output is needed in a short space of time. They are the first in a series of new products which Lincat plans to aim primarily at the public sector.

Opus 700 is Lincat’s range of 700mm heavy duty deep prime cooking equipment. Following extensive and rigorous product trials these are now being specified and used by many national accounts including: Punch Taverns, the Spirit Group, Greene King and Sainsbury’s throughout the country. Powerful and reliable, Opus 700 comprises over 50 pieces including: gas and electric fryers, oven ranges, boiling tops, salamander grills, griddles and atmospheric steamers. It also includes gas chargrills and electric pasta boilers, a chip scuttle and bain marie.

Lincat Ltd is part of the Lincat Group of companies. Sister companies IMC Ltd and Britannia Kitchen Ventilation Ltd operate in the commercial catering equipment sector. Lincat Group company Mercury Appliances Ltd designs and manufactures domestic cooking appliances.
